Easter 2008

Easter was a busy day for us this year!  It started the night before with the story of Good Friday and acting out the the story of Jesus being put in the tomb.  The morning of Easter we found that Jesus had risen and the tomb was empty!  Later, after breakfast mommy heard the Easter bunny run out the garage door so we searched the house for the baskets he hid around the house.  (picture #1)  Then we got the girls all ready for Easter service at church. (picture #2)  Tayla and I had to leave early from church to go sign the marriage license for Jenny and Jephta as the fiance visa was running out!  After that we all met up at Grandma and Grandpa DenHerders house for a DenHerder family Easter.  We did a nice meal, and easter egg hunt, and the easter bunny left a trail of edible bunny fur to even more presents!  Picture #3 is of the 3 oldest grand-daughters, Mia Hadfield, Addison Freiheit and Tayla.  Picture #4 is me wearing both of the twins bunny ears while opening their gifts for them (they were napping).   Upon leaving the DenHerder Easter party we then went to the Thorn Easter party at my parents house to join them for dessert.   It was a long day but everyone had a great time!

Easter Eggs!

Tayla made Easter eggs for the first time this year, and did surprisingly well, only breaking one egg!  Although she seemed a little confused about her holidays as she was wearing a holloween shirt and valentines day pants.

It's a Wiggly World!

Mommy and Tayla
Grandma and Grandpa Thorn bought us (Tayla, mommy and daddy) tickets to go see the Wiggles at the Tacoma Dome yesterday.  It was a lot of fun, Tayla wore herself out dancing and singing and had to take a nap on the way to dinner.  We made a day out of it by hitting up the Four Seas restaurant in the International District in Seattle after the show.  After dropping Darik off at work, Tayla and I went to see Auntie Jenny in Bellevue.  We finally got home around 9:30 and Tayla still hasn't recovered!

Two New Cousins!

Aubrey Anna Thorn born 3/16/08
Corbin Wolf Freiheit, born 3/9/08

Corbin is the fourth and final? Freiheit child, born to Darik's oldest sister Rachel and her husband Aaron.
Aubrey is the second little girl born to my brother Greg and his wife Holly.  We haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet since she lives in Missouri but we plan on seeing her this June on our fun family ROAD TRIP!

Grandbabies

So many grandbabies!  We were all dressed up for cousin Elissa's wedding on Feb 29th and then all dressed down for family night at Grandma and Grandpa DenHerder's last week.    If you notice, there has been one more addition in  the meantime!

Jenny's Getting Married!

Ahhh, my BFF is getting married...I couldn't be happier for her!  Jephta (her fiance) is a wonderful Godly man and makes her so happy!   The first pic is at her bachlorette party last weekend and the 2nd pic is from her bridal shower a few weeks ago.    I love this girl!

Piggy Tails!

Daylin finally had enough hair for pig tails but her hair has NO BEND to it at all!

But, I rather like it this way...

Pretty Princesses

Tayla inherited some fun dress-up clothes from cousin Addison, now even the twins enjoy letting sister pick them out a dress.

First Day of School

Tayla started preschool at the beginning of the month, she goes to Grandma Lyn's preschool called Academy Hill.  I get to teach on Tuesday's when she goes.  She loves it and so do I!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

In brief,  this is the reason I haven't posted in 8 months!  Imagine 3 of these all day long...  No, it's not that bad but they keep me busy!  I vow to post more often starting with this beauty.

3-year olds

Tayla and Karik both Turned 3 over the last couple months.  Tayla got two parties this year, one at Round Table pizza with the Thorn relatives, and the other at Grandma and Grandpa DenHerder's house with the DenHerder side.  Neither of which was on her actual birthday, so needless to say it took her awhile to stop asking if today was another birthday.
